HIGH POINT REGIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®
COMMITTEE/COUNCIL PREFERENCE REQUEST
One of the benefits of your REALTOR® membership in HPRAR is that you have the opportunity to facilitate the development of your real estate career by volunteering to serve on one of the several Association committees and councils.
Listed below is a list of our committees and council
with a description of each.
Awards & Memorials Committee
Processes nominations and verifies qualifications for Local, State, and National awards.
Building Maintenance Committee
Maintains and oversees maintenance and improvements on the Association’s building. Coordinates meeting room rental and sets policy.
Community Services
Promotes REALTOR® professionalism among members and the public and coordinates community projects.
Cultural Diversity
Informs REALTORS® of their obligations & opportunities under the Equal Opportunity and Fair Housing Laws. Participates with the Community Housing Resources Board.
Governmental Affairs Committee
Maintains communication with all governmental and regulatory agencies, via TREBIC. Focuses on educating members on issues and encourages involvement in REALTOR® political issues that affect our profession.
Grievance Committee
Reviews ethics and arbitration complaints. Three year term, annual training is required.(Must be a REALTOR® for at least 2 years)
Member Services & Business Basics
Coordinates and assists Executive committee in developing association meeting and Lunch & Learn programs. Promotes attendance and coordinates New Member Recognition Ceremony at association membership meetings. Promotes educational opportunities; verifies new member application information.
Professional Standards Committee
Processes ethics and arbitration complaints. Three year term, annual training is required. (Must be a REALTOR® for at least 2 years)
REALTOR® Exposition
Plans and administers annual REALTOR® Exposition.
Social Functions
Plans Annual Installation, Golf event; Family picnic; early planning for Association events during NCAR Convention; REALTOR® Staff Appreciation; HPRAR sponsorship program and Veterans Club Luncheon.
Website
Maintain Functionality, navigability, and user-friendliness of the HPRAR website, both the public facing side and the community. Create and maintain the advertising program on the website as a source of non-dues income and as a "yellow page" of real estate service providers.
Appraiser Council
Open to all who hold appraiser license/ certification or those seeking same.
Lender Council
Open to anyone involved in mortgage, financing, residential, and commercial lending and other real estate related specialty financing. Focuses on questions and issues related to real estate lending and to created a mutually beneficial Lender-REALTOR® partnership
Property Management Council
Open to all who manage property for self or others.
REALTOR®/Home Inspection Council
Open to any licensed inspector or REALTOR® interested in the inspection process and its role in listing & selling process.
Small Firms
For firms with up to ten (6) agents.
Young Professionals Network
This group has a suggested age range of 18 – 40. It focuses on education, networking, implementing social media into association activities, programs & services. And provides a forum to discuss issues relevant to real estate careers and association leadership opportunities.
